⛳ Aaron's Pro Guide
100 mph Swing | Smooth Tempo
| Club |
Carry |
Quick Note |
|
| Driver | 240 | Trust Stiff flex/rhythm. | ▼ |
| Full speed shots; trust the Alta CB Stiff shaft to hold the line. Focus on a smooth rhythm and a slow takeaway to avoid the "big miss" to the right. |
| 5-Wood | 205 | Long Par 4s / Par 5s. | ▼ |
| Use for long Par 4 approaches or reaching Par 5s in two. Higher launch and softer landing than the 5-iron; ideal for holding firm greens. |
| 4-Hybrid | 190 | Safety / Thick rough. | ▼ |
| Safety off the tee on tight holes. Exceptional out of the rough compared to irons. High flight with significant stopping power. |
| 5-Iron | 180 | Windy days / Low flight. | ▼ |
| Perfect for windy days or firm fairways where you want the ball to stay low and run. Lower trajectory than the hybrid. |
| 6-Iron | 170 | Mid-range approach. | ▼ |
| Standard mid-range approach. High-launch iron shot into greens with the G440 PurFlex feel and graphite speed. |
| 7-Iron | 160 | Go-to confidence club. | ▼ |
| Swing smooth and trust the yardage for mid-fairway approach shots. The G440 cavity provides distance even on slight miss-hits. |
| 8-Iron | 150 | Attack pins / Soft land. | ▼ |
| Attack the pin on "Green Light" situations. High flight, soft landing. Focus on center of the face and maintaining tempo. |
| 9-Iron | 135 | Controlled scoring shot. | ▼ |
| Start of your primary scoring window. High trajectory and high spin. Keep the swing smooth to avoid over-spinning the ball. |
| PW (42°) | 120 | Full approach button. | ▼ |
| Handles standard approach shots with maximum forgiveness. Replaces a traditional 9-iron loft for modern distance. |
| UW (47°) | 105 | 100-YD BUTTON. | ▼ |
| THE 100-YARD BUTTON. Your most important scoring club. Designed for precision and high-launch soft landings. Trust the graphite snap. |
| 52° Vokey | 90 | Firm turf / No skulling. | ▼ |
| The 8° bounce (F-Grind) avoids the "skull" or "blade" on dry East Bay fairways. Nips the ball clean with a heavier steel feel. |
| 56° Vokey | 75 | Bunkers / Soft lobs. | ▼ |
| Primary bunker and thick rough club. D-Grind allows face to open without leading edge lift. Use the 12° bounce to splash out of sand. |
🌬️ WIND MANAGEMENT
"When it's breezy, swing easy." Do not swing harder. Club up (e.g., 6-iron for 7-iron). Ball 1 inch back in stance. Smooth, 3/4 swing for piercing flight.
Wind kills spin. Ball flies further but won't "bite" on greens. Trust carry but expect 5-10yd extra roll. Use 7W or Hybrid for steep descent.
🎨 SHOT SHAPING
Setup: Aim feet right, face at target. Swing: Inside-to-out along feet line. Feel right forearm rotate over left through impact. Great for distance.
Setup: Aim feet left, face at target. Swing: Outside-to-in along feet line. "Hold off" the release; keep lead wrist firm. Great for soft green landings.
🏆 TOURNAMENT RULES
Ignore tucked pins. Aim for center of every green. A 2-putt par beats a "short-sided" double bogey every time. Protect the card.
If fairway is narrow or hazards are in play, take the 5-wood. A ball in the fairway is 100x better than 20 extra yards in the rough.
If path is clear, use the putter. Minimize the risk of a chunked specialty wedge under tournament pressure.
